Part of why I wanted to open an art gallery was to get to frequently open deliveries filed with art work. 😂 It’s absolutely amazing to get to be so close to so much beauty and talent and to have the thrill of peeling away the layers of packaging, imagining the feelings of the artist as they carefully wrapped up their hard work to send off into the world. Another huge reason was to have the platform to share the talents of as many talented creators as I can. I always tried to do that here with the work of other smiths, but it wasn’t always warmly received, but that’s a story for another time.... Because we have a new group show coming up in less than two weeks, I’ve been opening deliveries all morning. This painting, “The Countess” by Michele Melcher, just arrived. There’s nothing like opening a box and being shocked at how much better the thing is inside than you thought it would be after only having seen it in photos. I have a sneaking suspicion that if you like my skeleton jewelry, you’ll love Michele’s paintings. @michelemelcherillustration “The Countess” will be on view, resplendent in her antique gilded frame, as part of FALSE FACE between October 16 and November 9.
