It recently occurred to me that I have been drawing backer portraits and taking new orders from The Unselfie Project online shop for over 10 months now. Seeing all of the great faces in the gallery while keeping in mind that these are only some of the portraits that I have completed (many people do not opt-into the gallery) made me realize that this has been an immense amount of work - in addition to my regular freelance illustration.
I don't want to sound like a jerk but in today's social-media-5-second-attention-span world of "Look at me! Look how great I am!" where thousands of voices all clamor for attention at once, it is hard not to roll your eyes at those who brag (or humble brag) about their success.
I know that I may risk sounding like one of those bragging bores but you know what? I have worked my butt off and I have accomplished things that I never knew that I would be able to do 10 months ago. I am very proud of that and I'm looking forward to all of the projects that I will be working on in the future. I am friggin' GRATEFUL to all of you who have helped me along the way. Whether it was with planning, hiring me for a commission or simply kicking me in the butt when I needed it - none of it would have been possible without your support. So cheers to you, cheers to me and cheers to doing great things! Let's do more great stuff.
